Margate residents do not want to have dunes protect their town. They are not convinced they work? Margate was devastated and flooded by Sandy, and who paid to fix the buildings ruined? The government. If Margatians want to make bad decisions, they should pay for them. Avalon's ancestors saved and preserved our big dunes a century ago, when all of the other towns bulldozed theirs. Although Avalon's current administration has allowed our dunes and their trees to be ruined more in the last 15 years than ever before, what is left of our dunes is better than nothing.
