A Court House spouter said, "Tourism encourages the over development that has ruined much of CMC." Tourism is Cape May County. How else could we ever hope to generate the income to support our 97,000 year round residents? Yes, the fisheries industry is one of the largest in the nation, but it directly and indirectly only supports a handful of our residents. Yes, tourists, beach tags and tolls are a pain in the neck, but without them, what would we do; be forced to live off subsistence farming like a 19th century agrarian society, or commute 90 miles a day to Philadelphia for work?
