I would like to share some important information about overdose deaths associated with Fentanyl. As we know, illicit drugs and pills found on the internet are being cut with Fentanyl, which is 50-100 times more potent than morphine. Drugs found on the street or internet are not standardized. Heroin, Percocet, and Benzodiazipines are all being cut with Fentanyl. Use causes loss of respiratory drive. The reversal drug Narcan blocks opioids from attaching to receptors in the brain and can save a life if administered quickly. Without intervention, cardio/pulmonary arrest will follow. Educate the risk.
