To the previous spouter who said there is a lack of LGBT Pride Month events. I totally agree! Who wants to go to Philadelphia or NYC now? Why not celebrate it locally? I am disgusted by the homophobic comments that were posted and even some of them were banned. Good. Gay pride or LGBT pride is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people as a social group. LGBT Pride Month occurs in the United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. It's time for change!
