Wildwood - For those of you in the Wildwoods complaining about the snow not being cleared from the streets after the storms: There's a very simple reason for this. Apparently, nearly all manhole covers on the island are designed to be six inches higher than the street. When covered with snow, the plows will hit these mounds and be damaged. I believe the people laying the asphalt are required to attend special classes so as not to accidentally make the manholes level with the street. Drive north on Park Blvd. in Wildwood, in the right lane, and you will see the fine work done as a result of these classes.
