A spouter made some good points when he noted that the Wildwood FD does not have enough volunteers and that fire protection for the whole island should be consolidated. He was completely wrong on the issue of residency for volunteers. Volunteer firefighters have to respond from home and then put on gear and man the apparatus before they can respond to an incident. Someone driving from the Crest to Anglesea, for example, would make no sense and be of no benefit. Look at the good part, consolidate first.
