Mayor Troiano and commissioners want to pass an ordinance allowing for a deputy chief, two captains, six lieutenants and six sergeants, in lieu of the fact the voters passed an ordinance last election limiting such a number of high-ranking officials. That was when there were three squads, now there are only two, so the numbers of staff seem way out of balance. My question is what are the taxpayers going to get for the extra salary incentives, that they don't already have? Seems to me it is just more fat for the stew, and less meat. I say no. Stick to the voters' wishes.
