Yes, some millionaires really might benefit from your tax dollars for beach replenishment, but what sort of jobs will anyone have in this county without the tourists flocking to the barrier islands? We are all in six degrees of separation from tourism, whether we are in a building trade, healthcare, service industry, big box retail or public employee. You most likely would not be able to keep your job if tourism disappeared and people left the county in droves. Then you could hunt, fish or farm, but not live a 21st-century lifestyle.
