An editorial in a daily paper deplores the increasing culture in youth sports that encourages young athletes to play while hurt, citing a national survey that safety takes second place to winning games, and that 54 percent of players said they played while hurt. Even coaches cited pressure from parents to put an injured child, even with a possible concussion, back into the game. Is this what school sports has come to?
