As someone from up north, where a greeting of "Happy Holidays" has become standard, and marching bands have become non-existent as music programs have been cut, I just want to say how much I enjoyed the West Cape May Christmas parade. It was refreshing to have a Christmas parade, and to hear everyone wishing each other a 'Merry Christmas.' Seeing the police, firemen and other parade participants interact with the parade viewers, as well as experiencing the general community spirit, brought a tear to my eye. I hope that tradition never ends.
