Villas - Having alerts from the Herald is helpful but only if they're timely and accurate. The first day of school in Lower Township, you sent out an air quality warning six hours after it was released on my weather apps at 9 a.m. that morning. Then Sept. 6, I get a severe weather alert for Delaware, but nothing for the storm that hit the county around 8 p.m. Who cares about Delaware. Let's get on the ball please.

Moderator's Note:
The Herald was not aware of the air quality warning until right before we sent out the alert. This is why we ask people to send news tips to newswatch@cmcherald.com so that we may get the information out to the public as soon as possible. As for the severe weather alerts, they are sent out automatically by the text alerts system we are subscribed to via The National Weather Service; they are not sent out by us. If you are seeing DE alerts, odds are you chose to be a part of that group when you signed up. I suggest you remove yourself from that group if you do not wish to see alerts related to DE, as we do not manually post anything about that area.
