Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay to protect the homes of the privileged wealthy who voluntarily chose to live near the ocean. Beach replenishment is welfare for the wealthy. If you live near the ocean, fund your own beach replenishment and get your own, private homeowners insurance. No one is forcing you to live on barrier islands, so don't ask for tax dollars to protect your homes.
