Townsend's Inlet - The beach was full on the evening of July 4, but the risk was warranted since a police officer was hurrying to confiscate fireworks. I too saw the high speed which was used, but I was also able to see them use their vehicle to haul away fireworks before they could be used to entertain the crowd on 81st St. waiting for the usual large private display. They were met with jeers from the assembled crowd. How ironic that they only stopped one display. Wasn't freedom from this type of selective enforcement what we were celebrating?
