Many of today's students are lazy, disrespectful and completely disinterested in anything except their cell phones. It is a miracle that any decent people can be recruited to teach under those circumstances, much less stay excited. Ultimately, the good ones leave and the ones with low integrity, "easy A's," stay because they cause no waves with parents and admins. Of course, we'll keep graduating what we have today; kids who cannot read, cannot do basic math, and think they're God's gift despite it all.
