Rio Grande - Memorial Day is a time-honored tradition to pay tribute to our veterans and commend their sacrifices for our freedom. What happened to Middle Township's Memorial Day celebration? The speeches were the best part. I had family here for the weekend and took them to the parade. To say the least, I was embarrassed! There was absolutely no organization to the parade, hardly any participants and we heard children asking where the candy was? After asking around, I was told that the township's recreation department was responsible for this fiasco. I certainly hope some heads roll.
