The girl who is pushing for the turtle refuge (sand area) that was removed by the Boro of Wildwood Crest-citing a maintenance issue, has the support of several folks all interested in the preservation of the species. The lower end of the Crest is a mecca for the Diamondback Terrapin that comes ashore to lay it's eggs each spring and early summer. Many are killed/slaughtered for no reason and the species deserves to thrive in a natural environment. Shame of the Boro for dismissing the issue without compassion. Worry about your parking meters and not the turtles!!!
