Stone Harbor - At the last debate, Donald Trump would not commit to accepting the Presidential election results. Later, he said he would accept the result “if I win.” Now Eric Trump says Donald will accept the election results “if they’re fair.” What nonsense. Election Day is November 8; electors vote in their state capitals on December 19; and Congress will meet to count those votes on January 6, 2017. All that will happen whether Trump accepts the results or not. If he loses, his acceptance will be irrelevant.

Moderator's Note:
History as recent as the 2000 election differs with your conclusion. Unlike Donald Trump, Al Gore did not telegraph his intentions to contest the election results in advance of the election. However, Gore's refusal to accept the results was certainly "relevant," as the legal battle went to the Supreme Court. The circumstances were different, but a close election could be contested, either in the courts or - under the 12th Amendment - in the House of Representatives, where a third candidate could be considered.
