Stone Harbor - The Herald reported on the Feb. 6 Stone Harbor Council meeting. It said that they were considering parking meters from 80th Street in Avalon along First Ave. in Stone Harbor. Currently, there are no meters. The mayor says she doesn't like the idea, and the meters in the business district are not there to produce revenue but to aid the businesses. This is nonsense, as the money raised by meters pays for the lifeguards, beach staffing, cleanup, etc., and if it were to aid businesses, then why isn't the money given to the business owners? If you want more meters, put them in the 122nd Street parking lot.
