Stone Harbor - On April 7, the Council pontificated about the budget, declaring how conservative the taxing and spending is, and that we have the fourth lowest tax rate in the county. The spin doctor is at work! Twenty seven consecutive years of tax increases, $35 million worth of bonds, a school that's not needed, an unfunded $6 million dredging project because there's no planning, a $250,000 black-top parking lot, a $250,000 picnic-table designed memorial, a $5 million library that's not needed, a $5 million planned police station and a $1.5 million rec. center with no gym or workout room. Get the point?
