Please don't refer to victims of drug abuse as junkies. It's degrading. They are people and deserve respect. They didn't choose to be victims. We as a community need to share the responsibility to help them straighten out their lives. That includes a methadone clinic in our neighborhood. It is the least we could do for them. When those clinics are put in poor neighborhoods, they become magnets for crime. That won't happen in Stone Harbor or Avalon. It might be a little inconvenient, but it will make us a stronger and more dynamic community. It is the right thing to do.
