Sea Isle City - Why can a single senator from Kentucky prohibit the vote on critical national issues? Is it time to rid ourselves of a non-functioning element of Congress? Seems all it does is suppress the voice of our more populated states like N.Y., California and New Jersey. One person, one vote should reign supreme.

You are referring to the Great Compromise, which was an inducement for the small states to join with the big states. Without that, there would be no United States.
