Sea Isle City - The trees in the dunes on the promenade should not be cut down for several reasons. They help fortify the dunes, provide habitat for birds, and contribute to the scenery along the promenade. Homeowners along the promenade can see the ocean from their decks, pedestrians on the promenade can see the ocean by simply walking to any of the several beach entrances. SIC is enough of a concrete jungle, tearing down the trees on the dunes is irresponsible. Elevating the gazebo to view the ocean is reasonable, but removing trees and paving the dunes along the promenade is reckless and ugly.
