Sea Isle City - One of the responsibilities of municipal government is to preserve life and property. Why is it that we have many police officers yet our local officials in Sea Isle seem reluctant to hire full-time firefighters? I commend our volunteers but having a few full-time firefighters would surely increase response time which makes an enormous difference while combating a fire. We have a lot of money in our budget for our police force, why not dedicate some of this towards a few full time firefighters?
