They offered several good explanations, but I think some important ones were missed. First, people no longer have a work ethic. Growing up poor, we thought that working several jobs was normal, and never thought we were poor. You get what you work for. Another is the lack of incentive. Why work when the government will support us and provide all of our basic needs plus some luxuries in many cases? We need to end the welfare state except for only those in most need.
