Sea Isle City - Easter at pre-sunrise brought an alarming sound, sight and smell of another conflagration of closely packed three storied homes aflame here in Sea Isle City. Flames rose well above the roofs and beyond the property lines pushed by winds the ever expanding heat storm generated by the burning structures. Only the wind’s direction, which directed the flames, embers and thick black smoke across the edge of Ludlam Bay instead of turning it toward the coast, saved the homes on the seaward blocks nearby regardless of firefighter’s heroic efforts. This has been another warning for safety changes.
