The Mummers is a folk festival that is hard for most non-Philadelphians understand. It is a bit of an anachronism, but it truly belongs in the Delaware Valley. Why then does area TV devote more time ($$$, yes, sponsors are what matters) to the Rose Parade. People from Philly, Wilmington, and South Jersey don't care about Pasadena. We only want to see the football game, not the parade. Mummers and Bowl games are all we need not stupid flower-covered floats and West Coast odd-balls.
