Why does the media always immediately jump to conclusions?

Rio Grande - Why does the media always immediately jump to conclusions? No one will ever know what went on in that German plane's cockpit, and to just conclude a copilot was responsible, is silly. Did he have a sudden medical emergency, lose consciousness, die and couldn't open the door? Don't schools teach critical thinking skills?
