Rio Grande - Shouldn’t the total revenue collected by the Cape May County bridge commission be used to pay for refurbishing and replacement of the bridges operated by the commission? I’m joking of course. Audited financial statements of the bridge commission show that year after year, toll revenue doesn’t even cover the cost of salaries, benefits and pension contributions for CMCBC employees. So it actually would make more financial sense to dismantle the bridge commission and not collect any tolls. It would actually save money.
