Rio Grande - Citizens are fleeing in large numbers from California, New York and New Jersey, and moving to much tax-friendlier states such as Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. At the same time, many non-citizens and illegal immigrants are settling into California, New York and New Jersey, costing taxpayers billions of dollars. Democrats claim illegal immigrants pay rent, which helps homeowners pay their taxes. Most homeowners don’t rent, but are still forced to pay the exorbitant school taxes, incarceration cost, legal representation, and many other costs associated with illegal immigration.
