Regarding the spouts about the coast guard: I too am tired of hearing the helicopters hover over my house at all hours of the night. I agree they need to practice for many hours before they are good enough to rescue me from the water should the need arise. But I've never heard a case where they assisted the police in a home invasion and needed to keep me awake. There is a vast ocean they could very well practice over. The wind conditions, lighting, water glare, heat, cold, etc.; that would better mimic the conditions they may be needed in. What happens when one of them crashes into your house?
