North Wildwood - Some cities have levied a tax on unhealthy, sugary soft drinks. Meanwhile, we all pay higher taxes so that SNAP recipients can afford them. Soft drinks are the number one commodity for SNAP households by expenditure, according to a Nov. 2016 USDA report. It's time to put a stop to this double standard by requiring SNAP benefits to be spent on healthy foods.
