North Cape May - Would it be too much to ask that Herald readers check things before they submit opinions on them? People seem to hear a rumor or story (often an internet meme), and if it appeals to them, they run with it, regardless of its veracity. I am amazed at the number of conspiracies, secret theories and versions of "I heard/I was told" that are submitted to Spout Off. The following week, people respond to the info as if it is true and so on and so on. Why are people so willing to remain ignorant rather than doing some research and then forming an opinion?
