North Cape May - As I entered Garden State Parkway at Exit 0 at 10:20 a.m. Aug. 22, two vehicles ahead of me was a dark-colored pickup, with an open bed, and a dog standing in the open truck bed. I hoped the driver would get off at my exit so I could warn him to put the dog inside the cab. However, even with me going 65 mph, in seconds he was gone, going, I bet, 80-plus mph, which was not safe for the dog, and not safe for the vehicles traveling behind the truck.
