My neighbor works for LCMR. I asked her if she knew why the HS spent $80k for video game computers & is offering a class where kids play video games (it’s not a programming class- it’s to PLAY video games). She said that there are “choice schools” whereby students can attend another local HS if they want and that “tuition” comes out of the district where they live. The idea was to get schools to up their academics to complete for kids. She said LCMR took the opposite tactic- they’ve lowered standards to boost grad rates and now are bribing kids to stay (or come) to play video games.
