Now, the county wants to use open space funds for a military monument. I have nothing against military monuments, but that's not what the fund was created for. The open space program exists in name only; it's a joke. How much land has been preserved recently? What's the point of an open space program when property owners who accept our taxes to have land preserved are allowed to develop the property afterward?
