Why does Ferry Road, beginning at the Parkway, and going west, g

Lower Township - Why does Ferry Road, beginning at the Parkway, and going west, go from two lanes, to one lane, then two lanes (at the jug handle), back to one lane (before the railroad crossing), back to two lanes (just after the railroad crossing), back to one lane after the light at Sandman Consolidated, back to two lanes after the light at Big Lots? If you are not from here and don't know about the lane changes, it can be very confusing. Make it four lanes from the ferry to the Parkway.
