Wildwood Spouter: I too am sad to see the concrete ship deteriorating. I remember sailing by it many times in the early 80’s when it was a much bigger piece of concrete with rebar sticking out that vaguely resembled a ship. Should we find a big chunk of concrete and chisel up a replica and dump it there when no one’s looking? That’s one solution, obviously not the right solution. I remember my dad telling me concrete could float. No way I said. Yes way, he replied. It’s part of the rich history of this area, but the sea always reclaims and recycles, that’s what It does. If we let it.
