Erma - Is it just me or does anyone else think we are being misled when Sheriff Nolan tries to tell us the new jail, which holds 320 inmates, needs the same amount of staff that the old jail, which held 180 inmates, needed? The union is right to be alarmed about a 75 percent increase in the inmate population with no additional staffing. Then you sent out a directive stating that the officers who already work a 12-hour shift can now be made to stay an additional eight hours thus requiring they work 20 hours in a row.
