Court House - During Dog Bite Prevention Week, American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) reminds people never to leave a baby or small child alone with a dog, be careful around dogs and respect them, always ask permission to pet a dog, children should not pet dogs through fences. Don't disturb a dog eating or caring for pups. Do not run past a dog. Stay away from chained dogs. Be still and calm if a dog approaches. Check the AVMA, HSUS or ASPCA for more information about pet safety. Children and seniors are most at risk from dog attacks.
