There was more oil in 1979 than there was in 1978 when there were no lines, no shortages, no price gouging. The FTC concluded gas supplies were up 4 to 8% from 1978 in Jan through April of 79, and oil imports were up 10% year over year, and the US was exporting more oil than it had during 1978. The oil companies blamed Iran, even though we only got 5% or our oil from them. So, connect the dots.
