Cape May Court House

To the Spouter who pointed out: “There was also a gas crisis in 1979”. Was there? It only lasted from May through July, and most everyone today agrees it was “manufactured” by the oil companies. There was more oil in 1979 than there was in 1978 when there were no lines, no shortages, no price gouging. The FTC concluded gas supplies were up 4 to 8% from 1978 in Jan through April of 79, and oil imports were up 10% year over year, and the US was exporting more oil than it had during 1978. The oil companies blamed Iran, even though we only got 5% or our oil from them. So, connect the dots.
