Avalon - Why, in this day and age, is there the need for a siren - a blaring, wake you from a dead sleep when the windows are closed siren - to alert anyone, anywhere of anything? With all the existing technology, is there no alternative to the siren? The first time my friend heard it, she freaked out. She kept saying "we have to evacuate, right? That means we need to leave, right?" It is so over the top, that you’d easily think it was alerting you to an eminent danger. If you don’t live close to the siren, you might not understand how big an intrusion it is. Be there when it goes off, you’ll get it.
