Avalon - Gun fanatics: Please stop regurgitating the ridiculous, tired, mindless slogan, "If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." First, no one talks about banning or confiscating guns except the NRA, which uses the fantasy as a scare tactic to persuade you to buy guns and to oppose every reasonable gun-control measure (measures which, by the way, the Supreme Court has ruled are entirely permissible). Second, if you are a "punish the criminal" proponent, it shouldn't matter to you if only "outlaws" have guns, because your preferred "solution" to gun violence would still be applicable.
