Avalon/SH schools will re-open in September. The Administration and school board have determined that it is a great idea to accept out of area tuition students as well as relatives of staff members. They have also received a number of transfer students who parents have decided to ride out the pandemic here at the shore while their working spouses return to the winter homes during the week. For several reasons this is a very flawed plan leading to overcrowded classrooms. Oh, and by the way, those tuition students save the taxpayers approximately $30.00 a year and staff relatives attend free.
