Ocean City - As a former public employee, the spouts concerning public pensions bother me. Yes, tax money does make up a portion of the pension, but that money is supposed to be wisely and prudently invested by the state, the same as many private sector businesses invest money to contribute to employee pensions. One of the main incentives to become a public employee has been a secure and reasonable pension. If we continue to de-incentivize public employment, how will we fill the jobs on which we have come to depend; police, sanitation, education, etc.? Blame the investors.
