Wildwood - Went swimming with family and friends in Wildwood July 20. First time I had been in the ocean for a year or so. My eyes immediately started burning worse than an over chlorinated pool. After 30 minutes, I couldn't take it anymore and had to get out and get Visine. Anyone else experience this or have a clue as to why it is occurring?

There was no problem reported with the water July 20. The state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) listed multiple beach closures and advisories July 26-27, which they attributed to heavy rain for two days before samples were taken. None of the closures or advisories were for the City of Wildwood's beaches. All New Jersey beaches are open as of July 28 per the DEP, njbeaches.org.
