Avalon - I have seen a few spouts complaining that the chapel at 25th and First in Avalon has been "renamed" Sacred Heart Chapel. That is what it was originally called when built in the 1920s. The empty niche above the front door held a statue of the Sacred Heart for years until Maris Stella Parish was formed. There are still a handful of old timers who remember Father Knaab who was the pastor of St. Paul's back when the Sacred Heart Chapel was the only RC church in Avalon.
