Stone Harbor - An ex-staff sergeant who wonders about putting up with disgruntled, unwilling, overprotected boys and girls who are being forced away from their pampered cocoons if there was compulsory military service, forgets that we won two world wars with largely conscripted armies, and many thousands of draftees served well and honorably in Korea and Vietnam. The ones who were a problem were the draft resisters, who we were just as well off without to begin with. Of course, our military is adopting kinder, gentler basic training so it may take more work to make a soldier out of these kids.
