Wildwood - A spouter's comment that "Wildwood's volunteers are a bunch of old men who sit around, drink beer, and talk about the old times," is just that ignorant. How can anyone say or think this is true? For over 100 years, Wildwood has enjoyed the services of two volunteer fire departments. This has held expenses down, but over the years, the city has created a monster that eats over $2.2 million in salaries, and for what? There is extreme dissension between volunteer and career. The volunteer dept. wants to hold expenses down, the career division wants self-preservation. There it is!
