Wildwood - A person from New York commented online that perhaps police should stop hiring ex-members of the military who are "trained to kill." That statement is both offensive, incorrect and obnoxious. Unfortunately, killing people is part of war, and war is part of the human existence. If the spouter took a second to talk to any veterans and asked them how killing, and nearly being killed affects them, she would wake up to reality. Veterans are trained to be self-sufficient, decision makers who know how to work hard and they make excellent police officers, firefighters, salesmen or roofers.
