North Cape May - It appears Cape May County's economic development plan is to grow government. Towns continue to lose population which one would believe would cause a reduction in staffing, but this is not the case. In the 2010 census, Cape May County and only one other county lost population. Cape May County continues to lose population and according to the Department of Labor and Census Bureau will be the only county in New Jersey with a population loss in the 2020 census. The population is getting older and the greatest loss is in 1 to 44 year olds, which should reduce school staffing too. Why isn't it?
